Amman, Jordan house

When Amman was declared the capital of Transjordan in 1921, royalty, rich households, businessmen, military officers, and politicians started shifting onto the hill to the west and above downtown, named Jabal Amman. It slowly declined beginning within the 1960s as growth continued to maneuver west. In 2005, the Larger Amman Municipality acknowledged Jabal Amman as a ‘heritage attraction level’ and set forth plans to protect and develop the historic hill.
